Dr Golfam Khoshkhounejad is a highly experienced Consultant Orthodontist who treats children and adults with a wide range of orthodontic needs, from routine cases to highly complex multidisciplinary conditions. Her expertise includes managing jaw discrepancies, cleft lip and palate, and cases requiring close collaboration with maxillofacial surgeons and restorative dentistry specialists.
Dr Khoshkhounejad completed her initial dental qualifications (BDS and DDS) before relocating to the UK to undertake specialist orthodontic training. She completed the prestigious three-year Orthodontic Specialist Training Programme at the Eastman Dental Hospital and UCL Eastman Dental Institute, where she also earned her Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of London. In 2009, she was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and subsequently undertook further advanced training at Guy’s Hospital in London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. She achieved her Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2013.
Dr Khoshkhounejad is a Consultant Orthodontist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where she plays an integral role in the Evelina London Cleft Service, caring for children and adults with cleft lip and palate. Her clinical interests include complex orthodontic treatment planning, orthognathic (jaw) surgery cases, hypodontia (missing teeth), growth modification, and multidisciplinary care.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Khoshkhounejad is deeply committed to education. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in both dentistry and orthodontics and regularly lectures on advanced orthodontic concepts for colleagues across the profession. She also contributes nationally to professional standards and training as a member of the National Recruitment Group for Orthodontics and serves as the National Advisor for Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
