Dr Emma Wedgeworth is a Consultant Dermatologist with extensive experience in a number of skin conditions affecting children and adults. She has special interest in the treatment of acne, eczema, skin allergies, rosacea and psoriasis.
Dr Wedgeworth graduated in Medicine from the University of Cambridge with a first class degree. She completed her clinical years of medical school at Imperial College London. During her time at medical school she was awarded the Edgar Lawley prize for Best Overall Performance in Finals and was runner-up for the University of London Gold Medal (awarded to the best performing student across London)
Following medical school, she trained in several hospitals including the St John's Institute of Dermatology, a leading centre in London for the treatment of skin conditions. Dr Wedgeworth also has a Diploma of Child Health.
After accumulating significant experience, she was appointed a Consultant Dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology. Dr Wedgeworth continues to excel in research, with a strong track record of publications in medical journals. She is currently involved in research looking for further effective treatments for eczema. She has also featured numerous times in the national press.
Dr Wedgeworth performs a significant number of dermatology-related outpatient procedures including cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen), excisions, biopsies and steroid injections for hair loss, acne cysts and keloid scars. She is recognised by all major UK and international insurers.
Dr Wedgeworth is passionate about helping her patients with their skin conditions, always ensuring she can offer them the latest and the best medical treatments.
