Dr Dipak Mukherjee is a Consultant Respiratory Physician with many years of experience in the treatment of respiratory conditions including asthma, chest infections, lung tumours, interstitial lung disease and COPD. He sees private patients at the Spire Hartswood Hospital as well as Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital.
Dr Mukherjee earned his primary medical qualification at Magdah University in 1987, after which he undertook his basic and advanced training at the Heart Lung Centre in Manchester. He then came to the UK and gained a fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians. Upon completion of his training, Dr Mukhurjee joined the specialist register for respiratory medicine in 2001 and has since practised at Basildon University Hospital. He was awarded the National Hospital Doctor Award for his treatment of COPD and has also been awarded for his commitment to clinical excellence.
Dr Mukherjee currently leads treatment for pleural disease, COPD and tuberculosis at Basildon University Hospital, where he also works collaboratively with a team of cardiothoracic surgeons.
In recognition of his excellence, Dr. Mukherjee has been given a number of awards including the national Hospital Doctor award for COPD in 2005 and a chief executive's gold award in his NHS hospital for excellent clinical commitment.
