About Dr David Taylor
Dr David Taylor undertook specialist respiratory training at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital in London. In addition he undertook three years of research at the National Heart and Lung Institute investigating molecular mechanisms underlying diseases of the airways such as asthma and COPD. He has published widely on his research. After his appointment as Consultant Respiratory Physician at Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals in 2002 Dr Taylor has developed his expertise in airways disease setting up and running a regional Chronic Cough Clinic, a one stop COPD clinic and new community based COPD services. He has helped develop national guidelines on the management of chronic cough in various settings. From 2002 - 2008 Dr Taylor led the Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust lung cancer service and was Chairman of the Thames Valley Cancer Network lung cancer group until 2012. From 2012 -15 Dr Taylor was an Associate Medical Director and the Chairman of Division of Integrated Medicine incorporating all the medical and community based specialties of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and was Director of the Respiratory Department of Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals until 2012. Dr Taylor is now the Lead Clinician for Asthma, COPD, Cough and Non-Invasive Ventilation for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
