This research lead to an expert interest in mitral valve disease and mitral regurgitation in acute heart failure.
She leads a number of research projects into heart failure and she won a prestigious international research award in 2002, prompting a move to London.
She has been working in the cardiology team at Harefield Hospital since 2010.
