About

Mr Dimitrios Manoukian is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Ramsay Rivers Hospital. He earned his medical degree at the University of Patras, Greece in 2004 followed by his specialist orthopaedic training both in Greece and the UK. During his training, he completed paediatric orthopaedic fellowships at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Mr Manoukian later completed his Master's degree (MSc) in Sports Medicine, Exercise, and Health from University College London, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from the University of East London.

Following the completion of his fellowships, Mr Manoukian was appointed as a Consultant at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge NHS Trust. He later transitioned to a joint Consultant role between the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, and Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

Mr Manoukian's clinical practice focuses on addressing general paediatric and adolescent orthopaedic and musculoskeletal issues, including: hip dysplasia, congenital talipes equinovarus, guided growth, skeletal dysplasia, and trauma. He also has expertise in sports injuries, particularly knee problems such as patella instability (recurrent patella dislocations), meniscal pathology, and cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Manoukian has contributed to the body of knowledge in his field through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international meetings. He actively engages in training higher surgical trainees in diagnosing and managing paediatric orthopaedic problems. He maintains an active role in research, participating in both National and International studies as a Principal Investigator or collaborator.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
