Additionally, he has been honoured with the Noel and Imelda Foster Prize for Cardiovascular Research 2022 and the Heart Failure Prize at the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand ASM 2022.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements Dr Chieng was awarded the highly prestigious University of Melbourne Chancellor's Prize for Outstanding PhD Thesis in 2024, and becomes the first electrophysiologist in 20 years to be awarded this award from the university. He was also awarded the highly prestigious University of Melbourne Dean's Award for Outstanding PhD Thesis in 2024
