In January 2020, Dr. Baxter was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), with an Honorary Consultant role at St George’s Hospital Trust. At RNOH, he focuses on neurosurgery, the assessment and management of patients with spinal cancers, neuromodulation, and spinal cord injury. Dr. Baxter also runs a clinic at the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC), Stanford Hall, specialising in the non-surgical management of back pain and sciatica, and enhanced recovery. Dr. Baxter's ongoing research interests include optimising function and performance following spinal cord injury, clinician and patient priorities in primary tumours of the spine, and traumatic brain injury. He is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and serves as the Medical Officer for the Army Rugby League Team and the England Wheelchair Rugby League team.
