About Mr Craig Forrest
Mr Craig Forrest is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, fully accredited on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for Vascular Surgery. He is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and has a vast experience in treating varicose veins using modern minimally invasive techniques such as radiofrequency ablation and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Dundee Medical School and underwent basic surgical training and surgical research, for which he was awarded an MD from the University of Glasgow. Mr Forrest was selected for the higher surgical training programme for vascular surgery in 2014 and completed his vascular surgery training in the West of Scotland, becoming a consultant in 2020. He has a keen interest in teaching and is a clinical supervisor for vascular surgery trainees of all grades. He is involved in the national recruitment interview process for prospective vascular surgery trainees and examines and teaches on multiple courses related to surgical skills and critical care. His expertise in vascular surgery enables him to perform the full range of vascular surgery operations, including open varicose vein procedures as part of his day-to-day practice.
