About Catherine Stone
Catherine Stone is a qualified Acupuncturist and Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner with a Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in Acupuncture. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and specialises in traditional acupuncture based on Chinese Medicine theory, which delves deep into the root causes of various health issues. Chinese Medicine seeks to harmonise the flow of Qi, ensuring that bodily functions remain healthy and efficient. Catherine's training also includes Five Element Acupuncture, which explores the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. It recognises the impact of negative emotions like stress on the body, often manifesting as tight muscles or digestive problems, and aims to restore overall harmony and balance. She holds a comprehensive consultation to create a personalised treatment plan for each individual. In addition to acupuncture, Catherine offers various treatments such as cupping, gua sha, tui na (Chinese massage), sports/remedial massage, and provides homecare advice when appropriate. She has recently completed courses in sports and musculoskeletal acupuncture, as well as ear acupuncture. In addition to acupuncture, Catherine practises Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), a technique that aids the body in eliminating waste products. MLD is beneficial for various conditions, including water retention, pre and post-operative healing, sinusitis, hayfever, digestion issues, relaxation, complexion improvement, post-exercise recovery, and managing chronic pain. MLD is particularly known for its gentle and soothing effects on the autonomic nervous system, making it a relaxing therapy option.
