Dr. Carlos Sanchez obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Medicine in 1992. Following his studies, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant Doctor in the Spanish armed forces for a year. Dr. Sanchez pursued his Fellowship in Paediatrics from 1995 to 1998 at Cadiz University Hospital, with a specialised focus on Pediatric Allergy during his final year at University Hospital "La Fe" in Valencia. He furthered his expertise with a brief stint at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, delving into molecular techniques applied in allergy.
Beginning his professional journey as a consultant hospital paediatrician in Spain, Dr. Sanchez ascended to the role of Head of the Paediatric Allergy Department at the University Hospital of Cadiz in 2008. Over the subsequent years until 2019, he established the hospital's inaugural paediatric allergy unit, introducing desensitisation techniques for children with food allergies, notably cow's milk and hen's eggs. His groundbreaking work resulted in the successful cure of cow's milk allergy in 150 children and egg allergy in 50 children, with a remarkable 90% cure rate. These techniques have since been widely adopted across Spanish hospitals. In 2019, Dr. Sanchez relocated to Dubai, where he continued his practice in esteemed medical institutions.
He served as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cadiz School of Medicine for over a decade and held leadership roles such as President of the Andalusian Society of Pediatric Allergy and member of the Joint Board of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Allergy and Asthma. Dr. Sanchez's expertise was sought globally, as evidenced by his involvement in advising world laboratories and Spanish authorities on severe asthma management. He also directed the Spanish group of paediatric anaphylaxis, overseeing the publication of the first guide to action for children with anaphylaxis.
In last 5 years he has been working in different private hospital in Dubai like King's College Hospital, Al Zahra Hospital and actually he is Pediatric Consultant and Pediatric Allergology Consultant in Mediclinic City Hospital.
Dr. Sanchez has over 25 articles in various medical journals and book chapters to his credit. Additionally, he has been invited to deliver lectures worldwide and has contributed to several editorial committees of scientific journals.
