About Dr Bjorn Thomas
Dr Björn Thomas is a Consultant Dermatologist with extensive experience in skin cancer and inflammatory skin conditions. He previously served as Clinical Lead of the Melanoma Service at the St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, completing a fellowship that included the Melanoma Service and the Skin Lymphoma clinic. He holds a PhD from research into the genetic and environmental drivers of atopic eczema, recognised by the Royal Society of Medicine Trainee Research Prize and published in leading journals. He graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School with distinction in pre-clinical and clinical skills, receiving the Brackenbury Prize for Medicine and Surgery. He completed his specialist dermatology training at Barts Health NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospital, followed by a Dermato-Oncology Fellowship at Guy's and St Thomas'. He performs skin surgery for both benign and cancerous lesions, and steroid injections for a range of conditions including keloid scars, acne, and hidradenitis suppurativa. He is a Trustee of the British Association of Dermatologists.
