Mr Bilal Al-Obaidi is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee surgery, complex trauma, and the use of robotics. He completed his medical studies at the Baghdad College of Medicine and continued his training in Jordan, Germany, and Dubai.
In 2010, Mr Al-Obaidi came to the UK to complete an extensive 8-year fellowship at Imperial College London, where he focused on major complex trauma, elective knee surgery, and pelvic and hip surgery. He gained experience in managing complex trauma cases, including limb reconstruction procedures and circular frames. He also developed his skills in managing various hip and knee conditions, from arthritis to complex primary procedures. Additionally, he obtained a diploma in computer-assisted robotic surgery in Glasgow.
Mr Al-Obaidi's expertise allows him to provide individualised treatment plans to his patients. He is skilled in using robotics, which enables him to offer minimally invasive surgery with reduced pain and shorter recovery times. His dedication to medical education has been recognized, as he has trained and mentored many surgeons in the region, and he has received the Lipmann Kessel trainer of the year award for his contributions to medical education.
