About Dr Ayman Namera
Dr Ayman Namera is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist with over 20 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology and hepatology. His clinical practice includes the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, with a sub-specialist focus on pancreaticobiliary disease.
He performs advanced endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), including complex therapeutic interventions. His clinical work covers conditions such as peptic ulcer disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory and functional bowel disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, and liver disease. He is also involved in the investigation and early detection of gastrointestinal malignancies, including cancers of the liver, stomach, colon, and pancreas.
Dr Namera has a clinical role in quality assurance and governance within gastroenterology services. He contributes to structured service development and clinical audit processes. He is a JAG-accredited trainer and an Educational Supervisor involved in postgraduate medical training and supervision of specialist trainees.
He is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology and serves as HPB Lead at the Northern Care Alliance. He participates in multidisciplinary team meetings for gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions and contributes to regional service pathways.
