Dr Akhtar is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner working across both NHS and private healthcare settings. She began her medical journey at the University of Lancaster, where she built the foundations for a career rooted in proactive, patient-centred, and evidence-based medicine.
After graduating, Dr Akhtar completed her MRCGP training in London, working in a variety of busy and diverse clinical environments, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and practices in the Marylebone area. These roles have shaped her holistic, thorough approach to patient care, with an emphasis on building trusted, long-term relationships.
Dr Akhtar has a particular interest in women’s health, especially the menopause and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), coil removals and paediatrics. She is a strong advocate for personalised, informed care, supporting women through this transitional stage with both empathy and clinical expertise.
She is also passionate about preventative lifestyle medicine—integrating nutrition, physical activity, and stress management into practical, sustainable care plans. Her approach extends to supporting patients with medical weight management strategies, including offering guidance on the use of weight loss injections (such as GLP-1 receptor agonists) where clinically appropriate.
Dr Akhtar is committed to helping patients take control of their health with confidence, combining up-to-date medical knowledge with a genuine passion for wellbeing.. Dr Ahktar will be doing a weekly sesson in our clinic on Thursday afternoons.
