He trained as a Ophthalmic Speciality trainee for seven years at Greater Glasgow and Clyde, after which he was a VitreoRetinal fellow for a year. He was appointed Consultant VitreoRetinal Surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust in 2019, where he has since remained, also treating private patients.
