About Dr Aparna Bhat
Dr. Aparna Bhat is a UK-trained dermatologist with a special interest in skin cancer and cutaneous allergy. She holds a consultant post at Queens Hospital, Barking, Redbridge, and Havering University Trust in Essex, where she treats both adult and pediatric patients across a range of dermatologic conditions. Dr. Bhat has special interest in skin cancer and cutaneous alllergy. With over 22 years of experience in dermatology, Dr. Bhat is dual trained. She completed her postgraduate dermatology training at Rajiv Gandhi Institute in Southern India, where she secured first rank in the university examinations. After relocating to England, she completed higher specialty training in dermatology in North East England. Dr. Bhat has a broad range of experience with skin conditions across all skin types and is passionate about delivering safe, evidence-based care. She recognises the psychosocial impact of dermatologic diseases and tailors treatments to meet each patient’s individual needs. She is known for her excellent communication skills and professionalism. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bhat has a background in aesthetic medicine, having worked for Marico Industries, pioneers in cosmetic procedures and aesthetics in India, for four years. As an experienced adult and pediatric dermatologist, she sees patients with conditions such as moles, suspected skin cancers, eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair loss, and vulval dermatosis. Dr. Bhat has a strong expertise in cutaneous allergy and has led patch testing for 10 years. She is skilled in conducting comprehensive work-ups and managing suspected skin allergies. She is also an experienced dermatosurgeon, providing procedures such as excision of moles, benign skin lesions (e.g., seborrheic warts, skin tags), cryotherapy, and radio cautery. Dr. Bhat is deeply committed to medical education and is actively involved in training medical students, dermatology registrars, and general practitioners. She has organised numerous teaching sessions aimed at improving the dermatological expertise of local GPs.
