Dr. Amardeep Ghosh Dastidar is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with over 18 years of expertise in the field. He was appointed to the North Bristol NHS Trust and the Bristol Heart Institute in May 2020, where he serves as the cardiology lead for research, audit, and rehabilitation.
Dr. Ghosh Dastidar completed his postgraduate medical training in the Yorkshire Deanery and his specialist cardiology training in the Severn Deanery. He subsequently undertook advanced sub-specialist training in coronary intervention across the South West of the UK. His academic journey includes a PhD from the University of Bristol, awarded for his research into the novel diagnostic role of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) in acute coronary syndrome.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Ghosh Dastidar has authored over 100 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple national and international young investigator awards. His clinical and research interests span a wide spectrum, including complex coronary intervention, MINOCA and ANOCA, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, cardiac effects of COVID-19, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and cardiac risk assessment in stroke, diabetes, and obesity.
