Mr Alex Hoyle is a Consultant Urologist practising at Spire Manchester Hospital and Salford Royal NHS Trust. He also leads on pelvic oncology and has developed a robotic bladder service alongside a benign reconstructive clinic for complex cases.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Hoyle was appointed Clinical Director in 2022. He also serves as module lead for the national urology trainee boot camp and holds the role of research lead within his department. His academic work includes a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Manchester, and he is the principal investigator on several ongoing clinical trials. He is committed to expanding research opportunities and is working towards a regional trial network.
Mr Hoyle completed his medical degree at Manchester University in 2009, followed by a Doctorate of Medicine in 2019. He holds a PGCert in Medical Education from Edge Hill and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Urol) in 2020. He is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, and the Royal College of Surgeons.
