Dr Fahmi Al-Senani is a highly experienced Consultant Interventional Vascular Neurologist based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurological conditions, with a specific focus on vascular neurology and stroke management. Throughout his career, he has held significant leadership positions, including serving as a Stroke Programme Director and a National Stroke Lead, where he has played a pivotal role in advancing stroke care protocols and healthcare infrastructure across the region.
His extensive medical education spans three continents. Dr Al-Senani obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Saud University before completing his residency in Neurology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He further honed his expertise with a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science in Interventional Neuroradiology and a Master in Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Al-Senani is a dedicated researcher and academic. He has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed manuscripts in prestigious medical journals, contributing significantly to the global understanding of epidemiology and neurology. His commitment to clinical excellence has been recognised internationally, evidenced by his receipt of the Distinguished Regional Stroke Service Award. He actively participates in national and international forums to share his expertise in neurovascular health.
