Miss Aimee Di Marco, Consultant Thyroid and Endocrine Surgeon, currently works within the Imperial College Hospital NHS Trust within the Hammersmith Hospital, the UK's largest endocrine surgery unit. She specifically focused on benign and malignant diseases and minimally invasive surgery.
Miss Di Marco qualified from her foundation training in 2004, training at several units including the University of Cambridge and Guy's, King's and St. Thomas's School of Medicine. Following this, she began her surgical training (basic and advanced) in London. She was also awarded her Medical Doctorate (MD) by Imperial College London in 2016 for her contributions to the surgical technology field. A year later in 2017, she was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was also awarded the ASGBI Gold Medal for outstanding performance. After this, she further developed her skills by undertaking the highly-respected T.S. Reeve Fellowship at Sydney University within the endocrine unit. After finishing this fellowship, she took up her current position within the Imperial College NHS Trust.
Miss Di Marco is also an active member of the research community, publishing over 25 peer-reviewed articles. She is also an active teacher, holding the position of Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College and supervising pre-and post- clinical students at Imperial College. She continues to be interested in quality assurances within endocrine surgeries, submitting all of her outcome data to the national registry.
