Mr Ahmed Abou-Zeid is a Consultant Neurosurgeon practising privately at Spire Manchester Hospital, Spire Regency Hospital Macclesfield, The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle (Circle Health Group), and The Wilmslow Hospital (HCA Healthcare UK). He has a subspecialty interest in spinal surgery, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and endoscopic spinal techniques. His clinical practice includes the management of cervical and lumbar disc prolapse, spinal tumours, canal stenosis, craniocervical junction abnormalities, degenerative spine disorders, sciatica, nerve root entrapment, spinal cord tumours, Chiari malformation, and spinal infections. He performs a wide range of procedures including discectomy, laminectomy, spinal decompression, spinal fusion, revision lumbar spine surgery, craniotomy, cranioplasty, and treatment of hydrocephalus, as well as spinal injections for pain relief.
Mr Abou-Zeid completed his medical degree (MB BCh) at Ain Shams University, Egypt, followed by an MSc in Surgery and an MD in Neurosurgery at the same institution. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Neurosurgery (FRCS Neuro Surg) in 2008 and a Fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS) in 2011.
He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Association of Spine Surgeons, and the British Medical Association. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in postgraduate medical education at Salford Royal and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Mr Abou-Zeid speaks Arabic and English.
