About

Dr. Adrienne Key is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a specialisation in adult general psychiatry and eating disorders. Her journey in psychiatry began with her higher training at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London, where she developed a particular interest in eating disorders. Under the mentorship of renowned experts like Professor Hubert Lacey and Professor Bryan Lask, Dr. Key received comprehensive training in both adult and child & adolescent eating disorders at the internationally acclaimed St George’s Eating Disorder Service.

During her time at St George’s Hospital Medical School, Dr. Key served as a senior lecturer and consultant psychiatrist within the Eating Disorder Service. She contributed significantly to the academic field by publishing widely on various topics, including body image treatment and the effects of anorexia nervosa on fertility and brain function.

In 2005, Dr. Key transitioned to the Priory Hospital, Roehampton Eating Disorder Service, where she assumed the role of lead consultant before becoming the Medical Director for Eating Disorders for the Priory Group. Throughout her career, she has remained actively involved in advancing the field of eating disorders, particularly through her contributions to the Royal College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Eating Disorders. Dr. Key played a pivotal role in establishing training standards, resources, and treatment guidelines, serving as both secretary and a member of the executive committee.

Beyond her clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Key has been a dedicated clinician, focusing on developing specialised outpatient services. In 2013, she founded the Chelsea and Harley Street Eating Disorder Service, bringing together a team of experienced clinicians to provide highly specialised care. She later expanded this service to the Orchard Clinic in 2016.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
