About
Her clinical expertise includes the management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, complex hormonal disorders, and diseases of the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands. She has a particular interest in diabetes technology, including continuous glucose monitoring systems and insulin pump therapy, supporting patients in achieving improved glycaemic control and self-management. She also specialises in medical weight management using injectable therapies, as well as peri-operative diabetes optimisation for patients undergoing surgery.
Dr Saqib is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an active committee member of Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. She is an educational supervisor for trainee doctors and regularly contributes to postgraduate medical education through lectures and teaching sessions.
She has a strong portfolio in clinical leadership and quality improvement, with work presented at national and international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Her contributions to service development and leadership have been recognised through multiple awards, including the Royal College of Physicians Lily Leadership Award in 2021.
Alongside her NHS role, Dr Saqib sees private patients at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone and Sevenoaks Medical Centre, and also offers virtual consultations where appropriate.
