Our founders, a group of Doctors, recognised the profound impact that side effects from standard medications had on patients, often leading to multiple medications and hospitalisations.
This inspired us to envision a different approach to treatment, with Pharmacogenomics (PGx) at the forefront.
Pharmacogenomics is a field of study that examines how an individual’s genetic makeup influences their response to medications.
PGx testing, which can be carried out from a simple saliva sample, involves analysing specific genes related to drug metabolism, efficacy, and adverse effects.
This provides valuable insights that enable healthcare professionals to personalise treatment plans and select the most effective medications and dosages based on a patient’s genetic profile, thereby maximising the likelihood of effectiveness, and minimising the risk of adverse reactions.
At Mantara Health, our goal is to make cutting-edge PGx information accessible to all. By doing so we can eliminate the current system of trial-and-error in healthcare, leading to happier, healthier patients, with significant benefits for both practitioners and individuals.
