Das Kinderkrankenhaus St. Marien mit dem angegliederten Sozialpädiatrischen Zentrum sowie dem Medizinischen Versorgungszentrum ist weit über die Region Landshut hinaus das Zentrum für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin und akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus der LMU München. Wir bieten die gesamte Diagnostik und Therapie für Kinder und Jugendliche von der Geburt bis zum 18. Lebensjahr an. Durch den hohen Grad an Spezialisierung und der fachübergreifenden Zusammenarbeit entwickeln wir interdisziplinär abgestimmte diagnostische und therapeutische Behandlungsmöglichkeiten. Im Kinderkrankenhaus sind alle Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter besonders qualifiziert. So verfügen alle Pflegekräfte über eine spezielle Ausbildung zur Kinderkrankenpflege. Von den insgesamt etwa 100 Ärzten und Ärztinnen verfügen mehr als die Hälfte über den Facharzt für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin, viele mit speziellen medizinischen Schwerpunktbezeichnungen. Insgesamt arbeiten derzeit 610 Mitarbeiter*innen in den verschiedenen Bereichen im Kinderkrankenhaus. Angegliedert ist die zum Regierungsbezirk Niederbayern gehörende Schule für Kranke in den Räumen der Klinik.
