Hourglass Wellbeing is a private medical clinic based in Aberdeen that focuses on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. The clinic offers personalised care aimed at managing conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, diabetes, thyroid disorders, endocrine disorders and obesity. The clinic offers the only dedicated Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) clinic in the area.
The clinic’s cardiology services include thorough heart assessment using echocardiography (heart ultrasound scan), electrocardiography (ECG), ambulatory rhythm monitoring (Holter) and blood pressure monitoring. Hourglass Wellbeing offers an electrophysiology (EP), ablation and cardiac device service (pacemakers, defibrillators or ICD, resynchronisation therapy or CRT) by experts in the field. These investigations and therapies address conditions such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), sinus node disease, heart block, heart failure and risk of sudden cardiac death.
In addition to cardiology, Hourglass Wellbeing provides an expert-led diabetes and endocrinology service. The clinic diagnoses and manages various hormonal imbalances, including those of the pituitary, thyroid, testosterone and the menopause. Our metabolic experts can offer a variety of therapies for obesity. Patients can also benefit from comprehensive health screening panels that assess overall metabolic function and nutritional status, helping to detect early markers of disease and reduce cardiometabolic risk.
Hourglass Wellbeing uniquely offers a holistic, personalised approach to health by collaborating with and directly referring patients to, exercise and fitness coaches, nutritionists, and psychotherapists.
