About Mr Tom Watcyn-Jones
Mr Tom Watcyn-Jones is an experienced Consultant Urologist with NHS Fife, with specialist expertise in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), including minimally invasive surgical techniques (MIST), endourology, general urology, and the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. He undertakes both elective and emergency urological care within the NHS, delivering high-quality, patient-centred treatment. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Watcyn-Jones holds a number of senior leadership and governance roles. He is the Clinical Lead for Urology at Pertemps, where he has successfully delivered large-scale insourcing projects across NHS England, helping to improve access to safe and effective urology services. He also serves as a Responsible Officer for both NHS England and NHS Scotland and acts as Medical Director for several GMC Designated Bodies, providing strategic oversight of professional standards, appraisal, revalidation, and medical governance at an organisational level. Mr Watcyn-Jones has been instrumental in establishing and developing multiple urological services across NHS trusts in England and Scotland, ensuring these services are robust, sustainable, and well integrated into everyday clinical practice. He is actively involved in education and training, sitting on the faculty for the BAUS FRCS Viva course and contributing to the Royal College of Surgeons’ Core Urology Training Modules.
