Ms Theresa Payne is a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist who has been supporting young people and families since 2002 in her role as a School Guidance Counsellor. She completed her formal psychotherapy training in 2018, earning a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, and has continued to expand her expertise through additional specialist qualifications. These include Certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the IICP and a Certificate in Couple Therapy from the Institute of Couples Therapy. Theresa is also an Emotional Eating & Binge Eating Disorder Specialist & has trained with the Irish Hospice Foundation in Children and Bereavement.
Theresa works with a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, bereavement, body image difficulties, disordered eating, family conflict, parenting challenges, peer and relationship issues, school-related stress, and career guidance. Her background within the school environment gives her particular insight into adolescent development, academic pressures, and transitional life stages.
