About Dr Tarun Bansal
Dr. Tarun Kumar Bansal is a Consultant Nephrologist with over a decade of consultant-level experience and a broad background in renal medicine. He has been practising as a consultant since September 2012, managing a wide range of kidney-related conditions and contributing to the advancement of renal care services within his department. Dr. Bansal obtained his MBBS from India in 1998, followed by an MD in Medicine from Delhi University in 2004. He then relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue specialist training in Renal Medicine, undertaking rotations in Birmingham and London, and completing his Higher Speciality Training at the Sheffield Kidney Institute. His clinical expertise covers all aspects of nephrology, including the management of hypertension, chronic kidney disease, renal stones, and patients requiring renal replacement therapies such as dialysis and kidney transplantation. Dr. Bansal has a particular interest in renal vasculitis and lupus nephritis—conditions involving severe inflammation and immune-mediated kidney injury. He has delead on initiating a dedicated vasculitis services, working collaboratively with the rheumatology team to enhance multidisciplinary patient care. Committed to improving outcomes for patients with complex renal diseases, Dr. Bansal combines evidence-based medicine with a compassionate approach to care. Outside of medicine, he is an avid cricket enthusiast and enjoys travelling and Bollywood music.
