About Dr Steven Rogers
Dr Stephen Rogers is a Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist at the Manchester University NHS Trust and Director of Research at Independent Vascular Services Ltd (IVS). He is an expert in 2D and 3D vascular ultrasound, performing over 2000 ultrasound exams annually. He graduated in Physiology from the University of Liverpool in 2010, before undertaking a post-graduate degree in Medical Ultrasound at the University of Cumbria. In 2011 he began working for IVS and qualified as an Accredited Vascular Scientist in 2014. Following this, he was appointed as an Honorary Clinical Vascular Scientist at Manchester University NHS Trust. In 2019, he completed his PhD on Tomographic 3D Ultrasound, and was awarded made an Honorary Academic Clinical Fellow by the University of Manchester. Dr Rogers is one of a few clinical academics focusing on vascular ultrasound research in the UK and he currently manages an experienced team of academic clinical vascular scientists conducting multi-site research projects in vascular ultrasound and tomographic 3D ultrasound. He has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at both national and international conferences. He is a member of the Society of Vascular Technology and currently sits on a research committee. He has also acted as a specialist adviser to NICE and an ultrasound examiner for the European Society for Vascular Surgery. He was recently invited as a co-convenor and examiner for the new Certificate of Ultrasound Competency for the European Society of Vascular Surgery. He also teaches doctors, nurses and scientists in vascular ultrasound and tomographic 3D ultrasound. Dr Rogers has received a number of awards for his research including a Certificate of Merit at the Charing Cross Symposium in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He was also appointed Ann Wilcox Scientist of the year in 2016 by the Society for Vascular Technology of Great Britain and Ireland.
