About
Ms Dutta specialises in pelvic floor dysfunction, birth-related injuries, vaginal prolapse and female urinary incontinence. She manages primary and recurrent pelvic organ prolapse, stress and urge urinary incontinence, and a wide range of perineal conditions, including postpartum complications. She also treats women with early pregnancy complications, menstrual disorders and menopausal concerns.
Her surgical expertise includes vaginal repair operations, uterovaginal prolapse repairs, native tissue and laparoscopic incontinence procedures, perineal reconstructive surgery, laparoscopic gynaecological investigations and hysteroscopic procedures. She performs urodynamic testing, including video urodynamics, and offers early pregnancy ultrasound scanning for women presenting with early pregnancy problems.
Ms Dutta is the Lead for Perineal Care within Urogynaecology at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where she works within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for women with pelvic floor trauma and birth-related injuries. She leads quality improvement initiatives focused on perineal trauma and pelvic floor outcomes within Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. She is also an Honorary Consultant at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
She completed her specialist training at leading centres including Northwick Park and St Mark’s Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare London. She has been actively involved in research and has published in peer-reviewed urogynaecology journals, including work on pelvic organ prolapse prevalence and advanced imaging techniques for anal sphincter defects. She has completed more than 20 audits and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care.
Ms Dutta holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare and Medical Education. She is a committee member of the Education Committee of the International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA), contributing to the development and review of e-learning modules, webinars and educational resources to support global training in urogynaecology.
