Professor Kwee Lan Yong is a specialist in Haematological Oncology and one of the leading specialists in the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma.
She completed her medical training at Oxford University and University College London (UCL), before undertaking doctoral studies at UCL and was awarded a PhD in 1993 for her research into growth factors. In 1999 she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant at UCL, before becoming Clinical and Academic Lead in Multiple Myeloma at University College Hospital and the North London Cancer Network (NLCN).
Dr Yong runs an active trials programme and a laboratory research programme. She has published more than 60 original papers in peer-reviewed journals, and is a reviewer for international journals and grant-awarding bodies. She runs the undergraduate course for Haematology at UCL Medical School and regularly speaks at international conferences.
