Dr. med. dent. Peter Uwe Gehrke absolvierte sein Studium an der Universität Berlin, wo er 1991 seine Approbation als Zahnarzt und 1992 seinen Doktortitel erlangte. Im Anschluss spezialisierte er sich in Deutschland auf die Fachgebiete Prothetik und Implantologie. Dr. med. dent. Gehrke absolvierte außerdem eine internationale postdoktorale Ausbildung in der Abteilung für restaurative und prothetische Wissenschaften der New York University.
Dr. med. dent. Gehrke ist Mitautor des Lehrbuchs "Fundamentals of Esthetic Implant Dentistry" und hat zahlreiche Artikel verfasst. Er hält nationale und internationale Vorträge über Makro- und Mikrodesign von Implantaten, Biomechanik und Implantatprothetik.
Darüber hinaus engagiert sich Dr. med. dent. Gehrke in verschiedenen Fachgesellschaften und ist Mitglied im Editorial Board einer Fachzeitschrift für dentale Implantologie. Sein wissenschaftliches Interesse gilt insbesondere der Retention und Stabilität in der Kieferorthopädie.
