He pioneered an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery programme at his NHS Trust that reduced the average hospital stay following colorectal surgery from seven days to three, well below the national average.

Training and Experience

Mr Sorelli trained in London and was appointed to the South East Thames Higher Surgical Training Programme in 2007. He was awarded the competitive Ethicon Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow, one of the world’s leading centres for bowel and anorectal disease, providing intensive training in advanced keyhole colorectal and proctological surgery.

He subsequently completed a post-Certificate of Completion of Training Colorectal Fellowship at St Mark’s, gaining specialist expertise in complex rectal cancer, pelvic surgery, intestinal failure, and advanced proctology.

Mr Sorelli is JAG-accredited in

lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and is an active surgical educator, mentoring

junior surgeons and consultant colleagues in laparoscopic techniques.
