Mrs Claire Langton Hewer is a Consultant Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon.
She completed her medical degree at Oxford University, graduating in 1990. Her surgical training began in Oxford but she moved to London and gained experience in Plastic Surgery at Mount Vernon Hospital. She trained at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and trained in Paediatric surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
She won a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the Kresge Hearing Research Institute, Ann Arbor, USA in 1996 in order to improve her research profile. Her Higher Surgical Training took place in the South West and included placements in Bristol and Exeter. In 2000 was awarded the Burghard Research Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England which enabled her to spend a year at Bristol University undertaking research into inner ear development.
In 2004, after completing her UK surgical training she spent 12 months working as the Rhinology Fellow to Professor PJ Wormald in Australia, a prestigious post learning advanced techniques for the management of sinus and nasal conditions in adults and children.
Mrs Langton Hewer was appointed as the first female Consultant in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in Bristol in 2005. She receives referrals from throughout the South West of England and Wales for adult and paediatric patients with difficult nasal and sinus problems. Additionally she takes a keen interest in many other aspects of ENT surgery in children and in adults and uses a holistic approach to problem resolution.
She has an interest in aesthetic medicine and practices at Quinn Clinics in Bristol. She specialises in facial aesthetics, facial asymmetry, aging of the face and non-surgical septorhinoplasty.
