About
He was appointed as a consultant general and hepatopancreaticobiliary surgeon in 2006. In his practice he routinely performs laparoscopic surgery for gallbladder/bile duct diseases, reflux/hiatus hernia, appendicectomies, groin and incisional hernias. He has specialist experience in surgery to the liver (liver resection) and pancreas. He has also developed a practice in hyperparathyroidism surgery for hypercalcaemia and osteoporosis.
Mr Groot-Wassink performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies of the stomach and large bowel.
As part of his general surgical work he routinely performs operations on the large and small bowel.
Personal interests
Dr Groot-Wassink enjoys gardening and swimming and spending a lot of time with his two boys aged four and six.
