Mr Saj Wajed is a highly experienced Senior Consultant Upper GI & General Surgeon. He has been working in Exeter continuosly since 2004. He Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter Medical School. He has a particular interest in gallstones, hernia, reflux disease offers laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Wajed graduated with a 1st Class Homours Degree in Medical Sciences at Cambridge University in 1989 before qualifying in Clinical Medice in 1992 from Oxford University Medical School.
He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England in 1996, and the Intercollegiete Specilty Qualification in General Surgery in 2002. His higher surgical training was based in the London Deanery including as a Lecturer in Surgery at the Royal Free and UCL Medical School.
He was a Research Fellow in Foregut Surgery at the University of Southern California with Professor Tom DeMeester between 1999-2000, and awarded a Master of Surgery Degree by the University of Cambridge in 2005 for his studies in Molecular Biology.
