He spent five years as the lead for the Diabetic Retinal Screening service for East Sussex and was previously a Consultant Ophthalmologist for Imperial College in London and in East Sussex. His NHS practice is now at Southlands Hospital (part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust).
He is a well respected educator and is a Senior Lecturer for Kings College London, and also provides Ophthalmology support to the England National Rugby team medical staff.
His interests include Cataract surgery and disorders of the Retina including vein occlusions, diabetes and age related macular degeneration. He is able to perform retinal and YAG laser, as well as intravitreal injections. He has a strong academic interest having published extensively in medical journals, and has presented his work at international meetings. He spent two years of his training fully dedicated to research at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, which lead to the award of a postgraduate doctorate degree MD(res).
