Prof Saqif Hossian is a Consultant Orthapaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery. Saqif has over 19 years of excellent practice and is currently based at the BMI Highfield Hospital in Lancashire.
Prof Hossain gained his primary medical qualification at the University of Ibdan, after which he completed his primary surgical training in London, with the Royal College of Surgeons. After this training was completed he undertook specialist trauma and orthopaedic training on the Manchester rotation, during which he found his passion for lower limb arthroplasty and soft tissue knee surgery. Once he has passed his examinations, he completed his Knee Fellowship at Derby and Nottingham, after which he was appointed as a NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. In addition to his training and achievements, Prof Hossain as Professor at the University of Bolton, a Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University and a Lecturer at the University of Manchester Medical School and has published over 25 peer reviewed publications in renowned scientific journals. He currently holds the Director of Medical Education post at Oldham Care Organisation. Prof Hossain is actively involved in training and is a member of the Surgical Training Committe and an Examiner at the FRCS(Tr & Orth) and FRCS(Orth) International examinations.
