Mr Raja Das-Bhaumik is a leading expert consultant ophthalmic plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist specialising in cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) as well as lid positional surgery (droopy lids, in and out turning lids). He is also an expert on eyelid lumps and bumps as well as eyelid cancers and aesthetic rehabilitation and reconstruction. He has extensive experience in ophthalmology, cosmetic surgery, and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Mr Das-Bhaumik is an expert in blepharoplasty and trains international surgeons in advanced surgical techniques as part of a fellowship programme at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has previously been the head of the eyelid oncology service at Moorfields.

Mr Das-Bhaumik gained his medical qualification at the University of London in 1999 before undertaking higher specialist surgical training. He then completed fellowships in oculoplastic surgery, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery including training in facial plastic surgery, and ear, nose and throat surgery. He has also trained in tumour and reconstructive surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery in the United States.

Mr Das-Bhaumik has spent a considerable amount of time in research and has focussed particularly on reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, and facial and periocular reconstruction. He has multiple publications in medical journals and has co-authored two volumes of an interactive manual on plastic surgery.
