Mr Khakha is a highly experienced consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising exclusively in knee conditions. Fellowship trained in advanced knee and trauma surgery, he manages the full spectrum of knee pathology, from sports-related injuries and degenerative arthritis to complex reconstructive and joint preservation procedures. His clinical practice encompasses knee osteotomy, cartilage restoration, arthroscopic ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery, and both partial and total knee replacement. He is the founder of The London Knee Osteotomy Centre and the Children’s Knee Clinic, reflecting his specialist focus across all age groups.
He has held a substantive NHS consultant post at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2017, based within a major central London teaching hospital. In this role, he treats patients ranging from children with developmental or traumatic knee problems to adults requiring complex revision surgery following failed knee replacements. His surgical philosophy prioritises preserving the native knee joint wherever possible, utilising advanced techniques such as ligament repair, meniscal preservation, and corrective osteotomy. He is frequently referred complex primary and revision knee cases from other orthopaedic units.
Mr Khakha completed specialist fellowship training in trauma surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States, followed by a dedicated knee surgery fellowship at North Hampshire Hospitals. He undertook his higher surgical training on the South East London Training Rotation, where he now serves as Deputy Training Programme Director. In addition, he is the Knee Lead Tutor for South London and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Trauma and Orthopaedic Training Programme.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Khakha maintains a strong academic and educational profile. He is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London and Patron of the Orthopaedic Society, supervising surgical fellows and contributing to the development of future knee specialists. Actively involved in research and innovation, he is a regular speaker at national and international meetings on minimally invasive and joint-preserving knee surgery. In April 2021, he convened the London Osteotomy Virtual Masterclass, which attracted over 11,000 orthopaedic surgeons worldwide.
Mr Khakha graduated in medicine from St George’s University Hospital in 2006. He holds a BSc with honours in Orthopaedics from University College London and a Master’s degree in the same discipline from the University of Brighton.
