About Mr Peter Lamb
Mr Peter Lamb is a Consultant Surgeon specialising in laparoscopic and robotic upper gastrointestinal and general surgery, with over 15 years of consultant experience. He has worked at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh since 2008 and plays an active role in both elective and emergency surgical care. After completing higher surgical training in the North East of England, Mr Lamb undertook a prestigious fellowship in Upper GI Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. His clinical expertise includes laparoscopic and robotic surgery for oesophagogastric cancer, anti-reflux surgery, weight loss surgery, hernia surgery and gallbladder surgery. Mr Lamb is also committed to research and education. He holds an MD in oesophageal cancer from the Northern Oesophago-gastric Unit in Newcastle, and his ongoing research interests include cancer treatment, anti-reflux procedures, and bariatric surgery. He actively contributes to surgical training and is the Scotland representative to the Association of Upper GI Surgeons of GB & Ireland (AUGIS). He is a member of AUGIS, the British Hernia Society, and British Obesity & Metabolic Specialist Society (BOMSS). Mr Lamb sees private patients at Spire Murrayfield Hospital Edinburgh, offering a patient-centred, individualised, and evidence-based approach to a wide range of upper GI and General Surgical conditions.
