One of his particular surgical interests is in performing shoulder and elbow surgeries under local anaesthesia when possible, with patients awake. In 2017 Mr Ferran treated a 94-year old woman whom received two new shoulders, something that quite simply wouldn't have been possible had it not been for this approach.
