About Mr Martyn Williams
Mr Martyn Williams qualified from the University of London and then completed his General Adult Surgery training in London, Leicester and Liverpool, before choosing to specialise in paediatric surgery at the infamous Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, Alder Hey. During his training, he was given the esteemed Smith and Nephew Research Foundation Fellowship which gave him the opportunity to spend two years at the prestigious Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, exploring the possible causes of undescended testis in depth. He returned to the UK to complete his surgical training before becoming a Consultant Specialist in Cambridge in 1995. Currently, Mr Williams is a Consultant Specialist Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist based at Cambridge Nuffield Hospital, where is acts as the Lead Surgeon for Paediatric Urology. He specialises in all surgical conditions affecting children, particularly undescended testis, foreskin problems, day and night-time wetting, urinary tract infections, kidney and bladder disorders and disorders of sexual development. Additionally, he has special interest in hernia repair and laparoscopic keyhole surgery. Mr Williams has been an examiner in paediatric surgery for the Joint Royal Colleges of Surgeons and is regularly invited to chair sessions for annual meetings at the British Association or Paediatric Surgeons and British Association of Paediatric Urologists.
