About

Mr David Miller is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who qualified as a doctor in 1999 from Edinburgh University Medical School. He undertook his basic surgical training and obtained his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002. He spent a short period doing hand and plastic surgery in Morriston Hospital. He then undertook his higher surgical training in trauma & orthopaedics in the West Midlands and Oswestry and successfully passed his FRCS orthopaedics exam in 2008. He obtained his specialist certificate of completion of training (CCT in orthopaedics) in 2010. Mr. Miller also spent 6 months in Australia with further training in shoulder, elbow and hand surgery while in Melbourne in 2010. Mr. Miller's fellowship training included management of simple and complex shoulder conditions and development of shoulder arthroscopic surgery advances.
He is widely published in the field of trauma and orthopaedics with over 25 peer reviewed publications and book chapters. He also reviews articles submitted to the Shoulder and elbow journal and is on the faculty for the Oswestry shoulder and elbow course as well as the international Arthrex elbow arthroscopy course in Munich.
His clinical and surgical interests includes: Upper limb injuries, rotator cuff tears and impingement-related problems, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder pain, rotator cuff repair, sports injuries of the shoulder, shoulder replacements and reverse shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel decompression, trigger finger or thumb, base of thumb arthritis, elbow injuries, cubital tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve problems, tennis and golfer's elbow and steroid injections.
In his spare time he enjoys being with his family, playing competitive club squash, badminton, golf and cricket (if there is time). He also competes in Triathlons and marathons (but prefers half marathons), regularly raising money for the local hospital.
