About
He began his academic journey with a BSc (Hons) in the History of Medicine from University College London in 1981, before completing his medical degree at University College Hospital in 1984. He went on to achieve Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1989, followed by Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1995. His surgical training was undertaken across leading centres in Nottingham, Cardiff, and Sydney, equipping him with a broad and international perspective.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Wilson is a Professor at Cardiff University, where he is actively involved in training both junior and senior doctors. He also serves as Orthopaedic Surgeon to Cardiff City Football Club, Swansea City Football Club, and the Football Association of Wales.
His clinical interests include knee replacement, arthroscopic surgery, and ligament reconstruction. Alongside this Mr Wilson is also actively engaged in research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations in trauma and tumour-related fields.
