He later achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in 1998. Dr Alnamshan also completed a clinical fellowship in general paediatric surgery at McMaster University in Canada in 2003 and holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Paediatric Surgeons.
