Miss Mohanna graduated with honours and first in her year from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 1994. She was subsequently awarded a Royal College of Surgeons research fellowship and later received the Arris and Gale Lectureship for her Doctorate of Medicine research, which focused on innovative techniques to enhance nerve regeneration. She completed comprehensive surgical training alongside cosmetic and reconstructive fellowships, developing specialist interests in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body contouring, as well as breast, skin, colorectal and gynaecological reconstruction following cancer resection.
Her areas of expertise include complex abdominal wall reconstruction, microvascular tissue transfer, management of complex wounds, lower limb reconstruction, sternal reconstruction, breast reconstruction following lumpectomy or mastectomy, reconstruction for congenital breast asymmetry, and reconstruction following gynaecological, colorectal and urological cancer surgery. She also undertakes general breast surgery, including breast reduction, breast lift surgery, breast augmentation with implants and fat transfer, and gynaecomastia surgery. In aesthetic and body contouring surgery, she performs procedures including abdominoplasty, liposuction, brachioplasty, lipofilling and facial rejuvenation procedures such as face and neck lifts, blepharoplasty and fillers.
Alongside her clinical practice, Miss Mohanna is actively involved in medical education and surgical training. She is a trainer on national and international courses and has served as a course tutor at the University of Bristol. She is also patron of the Charity Network of Iranians for Knowledge and Innovation and regularly travels to Iran to provide surgical training and educational workshops for medical students and doctors. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to books and book chapters, and has presented her work nationally and internationally, receiving awards for her research and clinical work.
