Dr Michael Fakih is a Consultant Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Group Medical Director. He began his career in in vitro fertilisation (IVF) in 1987 and has over 30 years of experience in assisted reproduction. He has been involved in more than 35,000 IVF deliveries and has contributed to the development of techniques used in the field.
Dr Fakih is Co-Founder and Medical Director of Fakih IVF in the UAE, Co-Founder and Medical Director of IVF Michigan in the United States, and Founder of FIRST IVF in Lebanon. He has authored over 40 medical publications related to reproductive medicine.
He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the American University of Beirut in 1981. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, followed by a clinical fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University School of Medicine. In 1986, he undertook a further fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Medical University of South Carolina.
In 2008, Dr Fakih was listed among the top 15 American Lebanese individuals in the field of medicine.
Dr Fakih is a member of several professional organisations, including the American Medical Association, American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, American Fertility Society, Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), Society for Reproductive Surgeons (SRS), Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Reproductive Endocrine Society, the American-Canadian Endometriosis Association, and the International Product Advisory Board of OvaScience.
